Percent of Physicians (MD/DO) by Speciality
N = number of REC enrolled physicians (MD/DO)
Over 90 percent of REC enrolled physicians are live on an EHR, and over 75 percent have demonstrated meaningful use (MU) of certified EHR technology (CEHRT). General Practice/Family Practice and Internal Medicine physicians comprise over 70 percent of all REC enrolled physicians. These two physician specialities also lead all physician specialities in progress to demonstrate MU of CEHRT with over 8 in 10 such physicians demonstrating MU, as of January 2016.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tool data as of January 19, 2016, maintained by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), Office of Programs and Engagement.
Where more than one speciality was reported, each physician was counted once for each speciality selected.
These data include only physicians with the credentials of Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and the specialities listed. This does not include all REC providers, such as non-physician providers, like nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
All specialists include those providers marked as specialists by the REC.
All primary care physicians include those providers with the credentials of MD or DO that have been designated as primary care by the REC.
